Hair cut again

So our trip to target was successful and I bought some kid clippers to cut Finn's hair. Because last time we took him to get his hair cut it was way too expensive for what we got and I'm not a barber so the scissor treatment I was doing was a bit risky. So, enter kid clippers.

I got a bit carried away I think. This is the hair Finn no longer has on his head.

Also I should mention that I have always wanted to give Finn a mowhawk. Not sure why but I have. And Patrick has always been against it-somewhat, so I made my move while he was out of town.

I think it's stylish, not too edgy but just enough to attract the ladies.

Giddy Up

Well Patrick's parents were nice enough to come over and watch the kids through the night for me last night. I slept in our guest room and didn't hear a thing. It was the first full nights sleep I've had in about 4 months it was fabulous! Since I'm so well rested, I decided to get the kids dressed today (I admit there are many days where we stay in our pjs all day) and we are going to venture out to target today. Thus will be the first tome I'm trying it with both kids by myself-since Patrick is still in Chicago. Wish me luck. If anything exciting happens I will post about it. But I hoping it's not too evenful.

Yup that's right she's in cowboy boots. Too cute. Her shirt has stars and horse shoes on it so I thought they were fitting.

Paint, poo and daddy vacation

Well all of my mommy friends inspired me to get my act together and let Finn try some art projects. (they have all posted these great art workshops with their kids and I felt I needed to try it out-it looked like they were having so much fun).

Our experience however was a bit different-but maybe only in my head....Finn only made it about 5 minutes before he had a complete meltdown about wanting to play with the spoon I was mixing the paint with. He has a slight obsession about spoons an it was obvious when he threw his hands around in the paint and screamed at the top of his lungs.

I also learned through this experiment that I am somewhat of a control freak and a neat freak. I was trying really hard not to get frustrated that Finn didn't want to use the home made brushes (triangle sponge pieces I cut out for this project-bc my friend Kim an OT suggested it). And as soon as Finn's hands touched the paint they went into his lap or behind his back. I was cringing the whole time while repeating in my head "its washable paint, washable paint". So half the paint made it to my desired destination-the paper, the other half on him and his clothes. But still kinda fun overall.

The infamous spoon.

The plate the paint started on-pretty.

The masterpiece.

Ainsley just hung out on the couch like the little angel she is.

And Finn repaid my efforts by pooping his pants so bad we had to take an early bath.

Then he proceded to steal his sister's passy that says "daddy's little girl". We will tease him about this when he's older.

And again Ainsley hammed it up for the camera-I think she has a career in modeling. I just love kissing her chubby cheeks-she's just like Finn in the kissable department. And yes she does love her daddy-who we took this picture for since he's in Chicago for a dental conference.

Sick day

Ainsley enjoyed some tummy time this morning. She seems to be getting older so fast. She's already two months old. I guess time is flying because we have two now and I'm not just getting to sit and watch her every move like I did with Finn.

She is a very happy baby just like her big brother. We can pretty much get her to smile at anything these days. Which is nice! She's even cooing to us too.

Finn on the otherhand is fighting a cold. He woke up coughing with a runny nose. And of course Patrick and I are now paranoid about seizures- he tends to have lots more when he's sick. But we've had two really good weeks before this so that's a blessing in itself.

This is what the champ looks like today. He isn't able to have any cold medicine like other kids because of his restrictive epilepsy diet-so he has to fight it off all on his own. This is why I call him my champ because no normal kid could do that on their own-and still laugh at mom making silly faces! Which Finn does regularly.

Also. He's sitting in Ainsley's chair here. But that is huge because he crawled up in it all by himself and turned around. This was the first time I didn't have to show him how to do it-he did it on his own. How cool.

Finn "seemed" (haha) tired so he took an extra nap today. So Ainsley and I took our afternoon nap.

And birthday hats

Not only was there a deathstar cake, but there were hats. Cousin Liam was Yoda and Patrick was Luke Skywalker.

You mean we missed cake?

Finn and Ainsley's cousin Liam had his first birthday party today. Me and the kids stayed home because Uncle Dan was sick and Also Finn woke up with a little cough we didn't want to pass on. But we missed their awesome Star Wars themed party. Instead we read books and magazines and took naps.

Finn heard we were gonna read books and he jumped in - literally.

And Ainsley laughed.

Cold weather and birthday parties

Ainsley is all snuggled up in her cute outfit from Aunt Linda, Cindy, Angie and Kara. Isn't she a cutie?!

Can you believe she will be 8 weeks old on Friday?

Our boy is a walking boy. He held daddy's hand to and from the car on our way to church.

At his first ever party-with Hampton the birthday boy who was turning 2.

It was at the Whittle railroad station. And was the coolest place. The kids had such a fun time!

And I figured everyone would like to see a few napping baby pics too.
