One Month Check-up

Well Finn went for his one month check up yesterday.....at week 5 because they were full last week. But he's grown a ton! and I mean a ton. He's up to 12 lbs. 12 oz (which puts him in the 97th percentile for weight) and he's grown 2" already and is up to 23" (which puts him in the 85th percientile for height).....we've got a future footlball/basketball star on our hands.......it's only time before he buys Patrick and I our retirement home in Colorado:) hehe.

Oh, and he got a follow-up shot too. That was harder on me than him I think. His little lower lip quivered and he let out the most pathetic little squeak, but then they passed him to me and as soon as I had him cuddled up next to me he shut his eyes and started to fall asleep (it made me feel so good to comfort him). He was passed out before we even got home....what a cutie.

Tummy Time

Thanks to the great advice of my cousin's wife Kara, we invested in a tummy time mat...and mini boppy. Finn has been spending 5 minutes on it a couple of times a day. He's really working on that head and neck control, while also practicing his modeling skills. This is his look of surprise!

This is his look of angst.....

We also borrowed my sister-in-law's little gym mat...and Finn "grabbed" the rings this morning for the first time. He looks very proud and shocked.....(he probably grabbed them by accident, but he held on for dear life and giggle them around all excited)

5 Weeks old

Finnegan tuned 5 weeks old on Saturday.....He celebrated by wearing the onesie that Papa Glen bought him. There's a matching bib too:)

We also took a trip over to Great Grandma and Grandpa Bennett's house to introduce Finn. He was so excited he fell right to sleep in Patrick's arms. Great Grandpa Bennett is in the background.

Cankles continued

Okay, this is a continuation from the blog back in March right before Finn was born.....

This is what my ankles had swollen to the week before he arrived.....

This is what my ankles are supposed to look like. Crazy huh??!!??

Grandma and Aunt Julie

Just thought I'd put up a cute pic of my mom and sister with Finn:)

One Whole Month

This is my new favorite picture of my guys:) They are both watching something on TV. It must be captivating, or they are both exhausted.....I think it's the later of the two. I absolutely love how much they look like each other.....at least I think they do.

Well it seems that an entire month has passed, though it seems like only a few short days......now I understand why people say children grow so fast, it's really because time seems to fly.
We've had a few more baths lately too.....
And I also started using my handy, dandy sling:) Yes, that's baby Finn in there.....Look mom, no hands:) hehhe.

Mommy's Parents

My parent's came to visit:) yea!!!! This is the first time my mom held Finn....She's so excited, and Finn is pretty taken too. They flew all the way from Florida for the week, and we are so happy to get to share some time together.

This is how taken Finn is by Grandma Vicki......he's pretty intense about memorizing her face for future reference:)

Papa Glen is pretty excited about his turn holding Finn, and Finn seems to be pretty content:)

This is the inital meet and greet of the grandparents......I don't think we all could smile anymore! Notice all the things Grandma Vicki is holding (she's spoiling us already:) and I love it!!!

3 weeks old

I'm a little late, like 4 days late, on posting this. but Finn is 3 weeks old:) one more week and it's months we'll be counting:)

As you can see, he's very excited about hitting this milestone. He's sitting outside in his stroller chilling in this gorgeous weather we are having (70's and sunny).
And this picture is from today....you can definitely tell he's getting chubbier, look at that double chin forming. Patrick and I absolutely love it. Hopefully soon, if I stalk him with the camera, I will be able to capture his cute smile. I almost got it here, but I was about 2 seconds too late. I'll keep working on it:)

The many faces of Finn

This is our cute little Finnegan Henry. His new nickname is Fussbudget. He's taken to the art of fussing just a bit....normally it's right after he eats....which we are still working on, but it seems to be getting better.
This is his mid afternoon yawn! Pretty much, it is induced by me unwrapping his swaddle blanket and taking off his socks and preparing to stip him down to his diaper to keep him awake while feeding him. He has the tendency, like all babies, to fall sound asleep while nursing. But really, how can you blame him, it must be a lot of hard work being this darn cute.
And, mine and Patrick's favorite face.....the grandpa face. (no bob and glen, not his grandpa, but mine) When Finn does this face Patrick and I both feel like he looks just like my Grandpa Crist the one he got his middle name from Edgar Henry Crist. We love it:) and I'm sure Grandpa would be honored to be told someone this cute looked just like him:)

Pre-Game Bathing

Today ended up being opening day for the CARDINALS!!! and let me tell you the Murphy household was very excited, we even made sure Finn got his first "real" bath. (not just the warm wash cloth bath- we used real baby soap this time:) Finn seemed to like it, even though his face looks to prove otherwise. Then Patrick and Finn made sure to watch all of the action ......Finn seems to be a bit more excited about looking at his father than the game, but whatever....Patrick is enjoying teaching Finn all the rules and smack talk that goes with Baseball.

Here Finn is obviously so excited about his cute little "cardinal" outfit (really it's just red and it says dad's team).....I had to make sure he was dressed for the occasion to make sure he knew from the start where his alliances in sports need to fall.
All the pre-game excitement put him right to sleep....Until Patrick got the camera out (which I asked him to do) but I don't think Finn was a fan of the flash:) What a game face!!!
